Speaking Session #2: Educating Your Community About Text to 9‑1‑1

Many states and U.S. territories endured an increased number of natural disasters in 2017. Although Text to 9-1-1 service was available in some regions due to deployments in recent years, few people knew that sending a text to 9-1-1 was an option. This session will review various ways states and local jurisdictions have marketed the availability of Text to 9-1-1 to ensure maximum community awareness.

Date / Time: Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 10:00am-11:00am
Location: Room 207 A & B

Speaking Session #3: Industry Standard Update: Automatic Crash Notification

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) recently published two related Requests for Comment (RFCs) that describe a standards-based approach for supporting vehicle-originated emergency calls, including delivering supplemental vehicle crash data to PSAPs, also known as automatic crash notifications. This session will explore the similarities and differences between the two standards and how they may impact your PSAP operations.
